CHANGES COMING TO TRICARE
EANGUS has produced two videos to describe the changes to TRICARE coming up in January 2018. One video talks about the changes to premium based plans of Prime, Prime Remote, Retired Reserve, Reserve Select, and Young Adult. The other video talks about the changes to Standard and Extra becoming Select and the associated changes to Select.

In September, the U.S. Senate concluded debate on the Fiscal Year 2018 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Federal Technicians should be happy to know that the Senate-passed bill includes a provision to expand TRICARE Reserve Select to eligible Federal Employees, including technicians. Section 703 also reduces the age limit for members of the National Guard to become eligible for TRICARE based on retirement points. In short, the provision links the Health Care benefit with the retirement annuity. These provisions still need to survive the Conference Committee negotiations.
